Ariana Kim Album Release Preview

Sun | December 7 | 4pm | Sundin Music Hall - Hamline University

The program takes us on a journey exploring the world of improvisation from two seemingly distant perspectives: violin sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven with historical keyboards, interspersed with world folk music - from Bulgaria to Macdeonia and the US - with percussion.

Through examining the language of improvisation and embellishments from some of the earliest and greatest improvisers in the Classical realm, we see a symbiosis in how form, structure, and harmony share (un)common threads with improvisation in world folk music and 21st-century compositions by Shane Shanahan.

Ticketholders will receive an exclusive sneak-peak download card at the performance!
